“Sometimes it seems like everyone knows who I am except me.”

This book was super cute! The writing is simple without sounding childish. The scenario seemed very realistic. I’ve always liked the trope of pen-pals falling in love because then it really is two people falling in love with each other’s minds long before there is any physical attraction.

As a high school student in Georgia, it was uncanny how similar these characters were to some of my classmates (so much that I couldn’t help but assign each character to someone in my class. And now I’ll never see them the same way again :D).

I’m giving it 4 stars because even though I loved all the characters, I felt like there could have been some more individual interaction between Simon and the others. There were some great scenes between Simon and his best friends as a group but I wanted more of him just talking to his friends individually. But it is easy to see that he has a great relationship with all of them and they all care about him a lot.

This is a tiny review but I honestly can’t think of anything to say except “This was SO cute!”

  3. Love your review. I often like to read short reviews than long ones. I hope there was more interaction with Simon and Blue outside of letters, especially when they don’t know who each other is. Wouldn’t that be so interesting? I know they smile at the soccer field and Blue blushes when Simon thought Blue was into Leah. But, gosh, their interactions were so rare!

    1. Thanks Jasmine! I completely agree. Even though I loved this book, I wanted more character interactions. After he finds out who Blue is, the pace gets really fast. I’m really excited to see how they do the movie though.

        2. Wow.. It’s cool how books are becoming movies so often nowadays.. unless I was not into reading before and didn’t noticed this. But it’s definitely awesome to read/write a book and then see it on the big screens. Do you ever plan to write a book of your own?

        3. I know! I think book to movie adaptations just happen more often nowadays. It’s actually always been a dream of mine to publish my own books but I never seen to finish my novels. How about you? Do you ever plan to write a book?

        5. I keep starting them but I’ve never finished one 😥 haha, I think when you’re reading, it’s also your imagination at work with the author’s so don’t count yourself too short 😀
