Favorites of 2017 – Wrap-Up

Oh wow, how is 2017 already over? I feel like I say this after every year. It’ll be nice to go back to a nice, even year though.

2017 reading challenge

I read more books than I expected myself to last year because of how difficult this last semester was for me. Most of the ones I’ve read were really good, I’ve liked or loved almost all of them. So my favorites list basically consists of most of the books I’ve read in 2017.

**Note that some of these books haven’t necessarily been published in 2017, I’ve just read them in 2017.

Surprisingly, I’ve read more contemporaries this year than any other genre, this has never happened before. It has a lot to do with so many diverse contemporaries coming out now and I hope that continues.

I also haven’t been blogging much lately, especially the last couple of months so thank you SO MUCH to everyone who has stuck around. I love you guys! I hope this new year brings you lots of joy, love and books.

  3. Congratulations on reading so much and completeing your Goodreads challenge! As well as being able to finish so many new favourites. I have only read The Gentleman’s Guide on this list — which made it to my favourites too. I didn’t really read a lot of new releases this year. I’m also planning to stick to backlist books in 2018 too.

  5. You read so many amazing books this year, Shouni! I love seeing this list of your favorites– I have only read a few of these: And I Darken, Ms. Marvel, and A Conjouring of Light. Of the ones I haven’t read on this list, A Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue as well as When Dimple Met Rishi are highest on my own TBR!

    My favorite book of 2017 is Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine. A brilliant contemporary adult novel focusing on mental health, self-care, family, and friendship. HIGHLY recommended!

    1. I know! I loved almost all the books I’ve read in 2017! I hope you get to “Gentleman’s Guide” and “When Dimple Met Rishi” soon because I loved them both. I just added “Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine” to my TBR list, it sounds fantastic!

    1. I wasn’t done commenting yet – I don’t know what happened haha. ANYWAY I see a lot of great books on your favourites list! I haven’t read all of them yet, but a lot of them are on my TBR. The Gentleman’s Guide, The Hate U Give, The Upside of Unrequited, Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard and Ms Marvel are definitely among my favourites as well 🙂
